angry mountain.

Yeah, I'm obsessed with those volcanos...

brunswick street.

Today was a public holiday because of Anzac Day. It was totally boring, so I went for a long ride over to Brunswick Street in Fitzroy to kill time. I've been there a couple of times before, but never during daylight (it's a great area for clubs and gigs and places like that). Daytime it's a real cute spot. A lot of cafés and random vintage shops and a very young, artsy kind of atmosphere. Here are some shots from my window shopping.

elizabethtown.

I don't know how many times I've seen this movie, how many times I've thought "well, this time I sure as hell will find it too cheesy", or how many times I've been wrong and instead fallen deeper in love with it. This is the kind of movie that I save to watch only now and then, because it's too nice to ruin. I love it for so many reasons, maybe for new reasons everytime I watch it. Anyhow, I saw it today and it's still my favourite.

the hills are alive.

My deafault song is "Sound of Music", which goes off in my head whenever everything else goes blank (e.g while doing the dishes). I just realised that the line "the hills are alive..." is pretty accurate for the state of the world right now, with the vomitting volcano and all. Perhaps if the script writers of 2012 continues to predict the future, there will be even more reasons for Julie Andrews to sing (if you haven't seen it, the basic plot is end of the world by volcano erruptions and massive earthquakes. Knowing a little bit more about volcano ashes now, I suddenly wonder how they managed to get the main characters in an airplane and not crash).

volcanos.

I know that people back home have a bit of problem because of the volcano erruption in Iceland, but you have to admit that volcanos are pretty cool to look at. They can be damn beautiful, just have a look at these photos.

dogs in da house.

Speaking about dogs... Yesterday we had an encounter with one - inside the house! It was the most random thing. I had just gone to hang my laundry in the backyard and only closed the moskito net door because I was intending to go back out soon again. Not more than a minute must have passed and all of a sudden there was a strange dog in our livingroom. My housemate asked me what the hell it was doing there. I thought it was his dog and that he was joking or something, because it was one of those things that he'd probably do to scare the crap out of me. But there was no joke. Just a dog. While we were talking it slipped out as silently as it had come and we have no idea where it came from...

crazy dog man.

This was on the news about a week ago. I don't know what to say... Check out how uneffected his wife is.

business cards - grandma's puzzle style.

When I arrived here I had about 5-6 business cards with me. All having the wrong phone number printed on them of course. So I had to create new ones. But since I don't have a printer yet, I started thinking about what I actually could do with my own two hands. And then I remembered a little episode from when I was 5 years old; I had just finished an awesome drawing of some horses and stuff, which my mother loved. She told me I should send it to grandma. While she went to get an envelope I came up with the best idea ever - wouldn't it be so much more fun if grandma got a puzzle instead of a boring horse drawing? I thought so, and cut the whole thing in little pieces. Perhaps not the best idea ever... But anyhow, I applied this idea to my new business cards. I painted some patterns and fun elements onto a cardboard, cut the thing in business card-sizes and printed my details on the back with these stamps. It was fun and I'm very happy with how they look. High five, 5-year old me!

This movie isn't exactly brand new, but I've just gotta tell you how awesome it is! First time I saw it it didn't strike me as a particularly great movie, just sort of average. But then I saw it again and liked it, saw it again and started digging it, saw it again because I was longing to see it, and now it's on the toplist of my work-background-inspiration movies. If you haven't seen it I recommend you seeing it - see it a couple of times and pay attention to the music - it's great! Other movies that has made it into my list include:

Religulous
Jesus Camp
Jurassic Park

I just discovered I have an ancient Flickr account filled with embarrassing work from 1st year at uni. So, quick as a flash I deleted them to give space for all my recent photographs. I will still upload A LOT here on the blog, but I thought maybe it'd be nice to have a place to go to see them all (and some extra ones). Have a look!

jackson jackson.

So last night I went to see these guys. They call themselves Jackson Jackson and play sort of indie rock/ techno/ elecric/ samba/ hiphop/ blues. Sounds like an impossible mix? Well, apparently not. And it sure is great to dance to. It was a great night, great gig, awesome band. I'm absolutely crazy about this song! Read more about the band here.

mice in da house.

So there's tiny mice underneath my floor and around in the house. One theory is that they moved in the same night we watched The Exorcist, (because it was the first night I heard them) in a sad attempt to scare me. If you haven't seen The Exorcist this is basically what it's about (and pretty much just as scary).

implode.

Not all awesome things happen in Australia. This one for instance, sure is awesome and is very much happening in my hometown Mariestad - my little brother is going to be a freakin rock star! He's the bass player of death metal/ thrash metal band Implode, which recently was signed with a major record label and are in this moment recording their first official album. They've been playing together since forever and it's so great that they finally got signed. Now go and check out their music here!

wattle park by day.

My favourite place in Surrey Hills so far.

t world feature.

This month I have a double-page spread in the T World Mag, highlighting my Original My Ass tee, which scored at the Graniph Design Awards one year ago. Good thing it says I'm gonna go do awesome stuff within five years, like starting my own studio and becoming a wicked surfer, because now I have a reason to sort of make myself do those things...
