start spreading the news...

...I'm leaving today. I want to be a part of it. New York, New York. These vagabond shoes, are longing to stray right through the very heart of it. New York, New York. I want to wake up, in a city that never sleeps. And find I'm king of the hill, top of the heap. These little town blues, are melting away. I'll make a brand new start of it
In old New York. If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere. It's up to you, New York..New York. I want to wake up, in a city that never sleeps. And find I'm A number one, top of the list. King of the hill, a number one....These little town blues, are melting away. I'll make a brand new start of it in old New York. If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere. It's up to you, New York..New York New York.

t-shirt brief.

I barely noticed I started this project, but all of a sudden I'm kinda finished with a t-shirt design award brief. Didn't have a theme or any brilliant ideas, but a bit of fun anyway. These are two pieces that didn't make it to the final entering artworks. One is clearly a loving tribute to a dear friend of mine...

A little promotion thing for my trip to NYC in a few weeks.

old and new nyc.

In 3 weeks I'm off to NYC again. It's fucking unbelieveable and a bit surreal. But it's gonna be awesome. I hope I won't be almost-sleeping-on-the-streets or stressed-until-I-almost-puke or missing opportunities again. Yeah, right, this time I don't have a fucking asshole boyfriend to hold me back, so it should be fine.

frost goes tropical.

a day of snow.

Yesterday snow came to Carlisle. Uni was shut down because there was 10cm of snow on the roads. Oh my fucking God, this country is unbelieveable sometimes... Anyway, I had a really good time, playing with my friend Rushe in the backyard. We made a horny snowman, that later turned desperate, lost all his teeth and eyes, and eventually fell over and melted. The snow was gone today and everything was back to normal. It was kinda wonderful to be 4 years old and jumping around in snow. Now I have to be 23 and fucking serious with my dissertation. No more procrastinations.

my heart is ingo.

Ingemar Johansson (September 22, 1932 – January 30, 2009) was a Swedish boxer and former heavyweight champion of the world. He defeated Floyd Patterson to win the World Heavyweight Championship. As a result, Johansson won the Hickok Belt as top professional athlete of the year in 1959 and was named the Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year and Sports Illustrated magazine's "Sportsman of the Year".

Ingemar, also known as Ingo, gave name to a popular soft drink in Sweden called Zingo. He is also part of the reason for naming this very blog - Stingosaurus. Ingo was a national hero in Sweden and will always stay that way. According to Swedish news papers, the city of Gothenburg is now planning to make a statue to his honor. Gothenburg was his hometown and also where he defeated Eddie Machen in a legendary knock out after just 1 minute, which lead to the match against Floyd Patterson and the World Heavyweight Champ title.

The artwork of the knock out radio was a project I did in 1st year at uni. That was when I totally fell for Ingo. There will be more tributes to him later on, when dissertation work is not so prominent in my life anymore... What I can say right now is just that I think it's sad Ingo died this Friday. It was unconsciously on my "to do before I die"-list to meet him in person, which is now made impossible unless somebody invents a time machine. I think he was great and he seemed like a person you'd like to hang out with. Rest in peace, Ingo.
